Post Trip Presentation – Lostwithiel Rotary Club

The GSE team delivered another post trip presentation to the Rotary Club of Lostwithiel at the Royal Talbot hotel.  The audience consisted of Rotarians and their partners all of whom had a most enjoyable evening.  The presentation by Cathie, Cassie and Graham was well received and some members, who are planning a visit to Rajasthan, gained some useful information from the team and their experiences.

1st Post-GSE Presentation, Redruth Rotary Club

The team enjoyed a fantastic evening at Redruth Rotary Club and delivered a presentation on their wonderful experiences in India.  Rotarians from across West Cornwall along with partners attended the evening representing a total of 10 other Rotary Clubs in the county.  Following a delicious dinner, the team enjoyed sharing their fond memories of India, including their vocational experiences, personal challenges and favourite places.  A lively question and answer session ensued where the team and the audience discussed the similarities and differences of culture, Rotary projects, food and the possibility of matching grant projects. In addition, GSE Team Member Ben announced details of his membership at the Rotary Club of Plymouth.

Farewell to Kota and the Group Study Exchange

The team arose at 4am for their train departure back to Delhi.  The time has come to say farewell to all of our friends in India and return back home to the UK.  As we drove through the empty streets of Kota to the train station the team were sad to be saying goodbye.  Special thanks are due to our friends Chandresh and Rajiv for giving Graham and the team a most wonderful evening yesterday and for their kind unwavering help and support throughout our time here in India.  Last but by no means least, a special thank you goes to our driver ‘Ali’ who was always there for us, always on time and drove for countless hours taking us across the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
We are now on the train to Delhi catching a few hours sleep before the sun rises for our final day in the busy city.  With a scheduled arrival time of 12 midday, the team plan to indulge in some last minute retail therapy!

A perfect ending

What a perfect ending to our time in India!  Two friends from Jaipur met with the team in Kota to celebrate Graham’s birthday and everyone had a fantastic evening.  Graham was given a gigantic, beautifully decorated cake and the evening ended with the team discussing their fond memories of their time here in India.
