Ranakpur Temple and Aravalli Hills
In a remote setting at the foot of a steep wooded escarpment of the Aravallli Hills is the Ranakpur temple; one of India’s biggest and important Jain temple complexes. Situated 75km northwest of Udiapur, this is one of the most beautiful religious sights that the team has seen thus far. In contrast to the busy, noisy cities, the Ranakpur Temple and its tranquil gardens is a place of complete peace and quiet. We continue our onward journey to Udaipur up over the Aravalli Hills where all that can be seen are green and yellow mountain ranges and small agricultural hamlets. The clean mountain air and clear unpolluted atmosphere makes a refreshing change from the busy cities. The air conditioning if off and the windows are open - paradise!
