Pre Wedding Henna Party

Henna tattoos, a plethora of delicious food, beautiful Bollywood dancing, nail art, portrait drawing, palm reading, foot massages and free jewellery – all of this provided for free before the formal wedding ceremony this evening.  The stunning decor was matched by vivid, brightly coloured beautiful saris and pyjama suits.  Hundreds of people arrived to begin the wedding celebrations and to enjoy one another’s company whilst partaking in the elaborate henna party.  This wonderful, unique opportunity highlighted the importance that Indian people place on maintaining close family connections as well as being an active member of a close knit community.  Discussions with local people suggest that over 1600 guests are expected to attend tonight’s formal ceremony.  The team are totally awe struck by this sophisticated glamorous event.  Some of the highlights of the pre wedding party are shown below.
