The day began with Ben (UK GSE) and Andy (NZ GSE) visiting the India International School where they were taken on a campus tour and were shown the student radio broadcasting facilities. Both UK and NZ GSE teams were then taken to a handmade paper printing factory where they observed the art of manufacturing fine paper products using traditional methods. Our next stop was a visit to a fashion and die factory where beautiful cloths were being coloured by hand. Lunch was served at the Arch Institute of Design followed by a campus tour and showcase of fine jewellery and design drawings all made by students at the Institute. Both GSE teams gave a presentation on their respective vocations and countries and were presented with beautiful handmade gifts on behalf of the principal and students. Our final afternoon visit was to the Jaipur Limb Centre where over 1.2 million people have already benefited from prosthetic limbs. The centre is sponsored by many Rotary Clubs worldwide and in particular District 1290. The teams were amazed by the speed of the manufacturing process with amputees receiving a custom made, fully adjustable prosthetic limb in just 4 hours. The team return to the wedding this evening to watch a magnificent procession of music, elephants and horses dressed in beautiful bright colours.
